Are research peptides legal in Canada?

Research-use wording does not create an exemption
Health Canada's April 2026 advisory states that peptides are generally regulated as prescription drugs. It explicitly says research-use labelling does not make unauthorized products legal or exempt them from regulatory requirements.
Do not treat a supplier's label, a domestic shipping address or a certificate of analysis as evidence of legal authorization.
Check authorization using official records
Health Canada identifies authorized drugs by an eight-digit Drug Identification Number (DIN). The Drug Product Database is the official place to check a drug's authorization. A laboratory report number is not a DIN.
Keep analytical evidence separate from regulatory status
