Overview
Bacteriostatic Water for Injection is a sterile, non-pyrogenic preparation of water containing 0.9% (w/v) benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits microbial growth, allowing multi-use sampling from a single vial within the labeled in-use window. Pure North supplies the manufacturer product unchanged; the original USP labeling and lot number ship with each vial.
Research applications
- In-vitro dilution and reconstitution of lyophilized peptide reference standards
- The benzyl alcohol preservative is compatible with most peptide chemistry; verify compatibility for any specific reference standard
Storage & handling
Store at 2 to 25 C in the original packaging until use. Do not use if the seal is broken or the solution is not clear and colorless.
